For nine years Ellyn Elstein the founder of Creative Closets worked assisting patients and developing her bedside manner as a Registered Nurse. In 1983, soon after the birth of her second child, Ellyn decided to make a career change. She combined her desire to help people with a lifelong passion for organization to create Creative Closets.
For the first three years Ellyn ran her small closet organizing business out of her garage, transporting building materials in the family station wagon, and installing each custom unit herself. As word spread and Creative Closets began to gain popularity Ellyn decided to move her operation to center city Allentown, hire a small staff and purchase a delivery van. Today Creative Closets’ is housed in a 26,000 square foot location at 7248 Penn Drive in Allentown, PA, which features a 2800 square foot showroom. It’s original one person staff has grown to a dedicated team of 12 organizational specialists.
Since 1983 Creative Closets has helped thousands of clients to painlessly transition into a more organized life through the design and installation of organizational solutions for closets, media centers, laundry rooms, garages, home and professional offices, and any other space you can imagine. Our company has also grown to include special packages for residential and commercial contractors and custom solutions for clients with special physical needs.
