1996 Lehigh Valley Builders Association Award for Professional Excellence - Specialty Projects

The Creative Closets entry for this award in 1996 was a project that transformed two very crude basement areas and unfinished laundry room into a comfortable, convenient and completely organized exercise room / utility area.

This new, revitalized area is complete with a wall to wall, fully enclosed built-in grey laminate unit which houses a TV, stereo and CD/VCR as well as many other types of storage items.

The entertainment pieces sit behind slide back doors and have organized CD/VCR containers. Also behind these doors you will find wine bottles slanted downwards for preservation of the wine.

To the left of the entertainment area is a place for the storage of weights and exercise attire. The exercise equipment sits on carpeted floors.

The utility area and main walk way are covered with ceramic tile. The utility area is separated from the exercise room by an accordion curtain door that folds back to allow complete access to this area.
Under the wash tub, you will find a pullout trash container and to the right of the sink there is a laundry sorter with three compartments.

Over the dryer there is a rod for hanging freshly laundered clothes.  One wall of the exercise area is completely mirrored and is helpful when our clients use their exercise bench and weights.
 
The full effect of the room is a completely organized private exercise center and utility area - - - it makes exercising in the home a comfortable and convenient alternative to a large impersonal exercise club.
